I love this time of year and the the run up to the main attraction of the season, Christmas, which involves Halloween and Bonfire Night. We have lots of spooky activities lined up at work for Halloween that I’m really thankful for as it’s the only time that I will get to celebrate it. There is a pumpkin carving competition between the different teams, fancy dress and a screening of a horror movie, such fun!
The month of October has been a steady one, nothing out of the ordinary, but lovely all the same. We celebrated Alfie’s birthday and I treated him to the most amazing meal at .
I can’t tell you how good this meal was, I don’t think I could actually put it into words. I was transported to heaven with every mouthful.
Then there was our and the failed attempt to go to the cinema. The meal made up for the cinema fiasco and I got to wear my pretty new dress too.
Of course there was the unfortunate incident of me cutting my hand and making a for stitches:
Luckily my wound healed nicely and is getting better everyday. Alfie has now vowed to never put carbonated drinks in glass bottles in the freezer again.
was in town at the beginning of the month and I had a fab time rummaging through lots of vintage pretties.
A slab of carrot cake was enjoyed to celebrate a very successful day out shopping.
Oh my goodness this tasted amazing!
Also, I received a gorgeous handmade necklace from Five for Silver:

Last month I really focused on de-stressing and making more time for myself, during this busy period at work. I’ve made sure that there has been lots of lazy weekends and a spot od pampering. Additionally, I had an epiphany. I’ve finally learnt that I’m not superwoman and I cannot do everything. This doesn’t mean that I’m a failure, I’m just human.
November has the potential to be magical with so many things going on. With a trip to paradise for my honeymoon and something very exciting blog wise if I can pull it off, this month is already off to a fantastic start.
Goals for November:
Budget and save
Start getting ready for Christmas- I’m so in the Christmas spirit already!
Celebrate my first wedding anniversary
Have a blast on my honeymoon
Do more yoga
Continue to make more time for myself
Well as you read this post I would have already landed in Sri Lanka. I do have some posts scheduled whilst I am away so look out for those, including a tasty oat bar recipe containing peanut butter, yum! However I will be MIA from the blogisphere and probably won’t be able to on all of your wonderful blogs. I will be updating my Instagram, and Facebook pages though as wi-fi access allow so you can check out what I’m up to there.
How was October for you? Do you have any exciting plans for November?
How did you celebrate Halloween?
