At the end of 2012 I was full if hope and positivity that 2013 was going to be my year.  To be fair, 2013 had a lot to live up to as the pinnacle of last year was my wedding, which is one if those epic life events that you never get over!

Having said that, this year has been pretty amazing too in terms of my career, blog and personal life. I can’t believe that it’s time to do a recap of this year already!

In February I went and got myself a PhD by passing my viva exam.

This is one accomplishment that I will be forever proud of as at one point it seemed so far out of my reach.  We had a family celebration at my graduation ceremony in July followed by a lovely family meal afterwards.

My birthday celebrations in March were spent in the very beautiful Rome.

Italy is one of my most favourite places in the world so this was such a treat.  I had so much fun on this holiday and eating my busy weight in gelato!

I tried my first hot yoga class too and looking forward to going to more classes next year.

I was chugging coconut water like no tomorrow!

Earlier in the year I got addicted to upcycling and charity shop finds:

This upcycled chair that we purchased in a charity shop for £4 now sits proudly in our guest room, love it!

In October we dinned at Raymond Blanc’s restaurant,  for Alfie’s birthday.

The food was incredible – we left with very happy and stuffed bellies!

I had the unforgettable experience of meeting and cooking with the fabulous Gok Wan:

I feel so lucky to be offered these amazing opportunities, sometimes I need to pinch myself as it’s all very surreal at times.

And how can I forget my amazing honeymoon in Sri Lanka and the Maldives:

Like I said, I feel like I need to pinch myself sometimes…such an amazing holiday and one I will never forget.

Of course getting a new job and kick starting my professional career was also a major highlight for 2013.  C&C is still growing nicely and I have it’s if lovely things planned for 2014, which I cannot wait to share with you all in an upcoming post.

I just wanted to take this time to say thank you all for your wonderful support over the past 3 and a bit years – you have no idea how much I appreciate you all!  My love of blogging continues to grow and I constantly feel inspired everyday.  I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in to next year.  I will be back in the new year with more posts, fun and of course cupcakes!

From the bottom of my heart I wish you all a very happy new year and all the best for 2014! =)

Tell me about your 2013 – what were your major highlights?

What would you like to see from C&C in the new year?
