Hello, lovely people! How are your weekends shaping up? We’re having a bit of a Christmassy weekend over here. Yesterday we went shopping for our Christmas jumpers, a bit of a family tradition for us now, and went to pick out AJ’s Christmas outfits too. He’s going to look super cute all dressed up, even tough he will probably hate us for it when he’s older. Later, we are putting up the Christmas tree and wrapping presents whilst watching a Christmas movie, I can’t wait!
This week I treated myself to some Christmassy items as well as some added extras from Holland and Barrett. The sweet mince-pie filling is a must for me at this time of year and I cannot wait to try those dairy free snowmen. And how fantastic does the Christmas tea selection sound?! This really is the best time of the year!
Nothing seems better than porridge in the mornings these days and this bowl was lovely. I’ve experimented in the kitchen with a wonderful hot breakfast recipe that will be on the blog soon, but this really hit the spot too! It’s plain porridge oats made with unsweetened almond milk, organic natural yoghurt, figs, maple syrup, Chocshot and chopped almonds.
I’ve been snacking on these lovely Get Fruity bars that I have been sent to review this week and so far I’m really enjoying them, especially the mixed berry bar, yum.
My slow cooker has been put to good use this week and I made a super tasty coconut chicken curry in it complete with noodles and lots of vegetables. It’s great for dinner and the leftovers are good for lunch with cauliflower and broccoli florets that I steamed in the microwave.
Aiden and I have had some more lovely days out this week, including a trip to a baby sensory class where he had his hands in jelly among other stuff and was mesmerised by all the lights. We also popped along to our local baby cafe to spend some time with some other breastfeeding mamas. Afterwards, we went for usual weekly mama and son coffee date and I had a gingerbread latte and a cherry and almond muffin whilst Aiden enjoyed his milk.
Fitness wise I’ve actually got round to doing some form of exercise, lots of walking mainly but I did a killer ab workout the other day and loved it. I was hoping to get to the gym, but with all the Christmas cheer happening in our house today I don’t think I will make it, so I’ll be heading out for a walk instead. Anyway, my cinnamon swirls are baking in the oven and the house smells like a treat, breakfast is calling my name!
