How pretty is this Starbucks paper cup?  It was the perfect amount of spring time prettiness to hold my very autumnal chai latte.  I’m loving all the spring time loveliness about at the moment, especially the sunshine and blooms, definitely one of the highlights of April for me and despite some stressful moments, as a whole, it wasn’t a bad month.

Now that we’re in a new season, I’m making a conscious effort to give my wardrobe a complete overhaul.  One morning I was getting ready and didn’t like hardly anything I owned, definitely a sign that I need to do a major shopping haul.  Rather than just buying anything, I’m working on the capsule wardrobe philosophy and will be restocking it with staples that I can mix and match.  I’ve already started stocking up on several of these t-shirts from H&M in various colours – they’re so easy to throw on with skinny jeans and a scarf, which I love!

How could I forget about running the Reading Half Marathon!  I’m was so relieved to finish and super excited all at the same time.  As a team, we’ve raised nearly £2000 for Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer’s Society, two causes that are very close to our hearts.

Both Alfie and I have been really busy with work recently, so we’ve made sure that the weekends have been fully focused on quality family time.  We’ve been out for some lovely meals, enter the white chocolate and raspberry tart above, and some lovely walks.  We even ended up making a visit to a nearby farm to see the new spring lambs and other animals, Aiden was beside himself with happiness.  We’ve just signed up to The National Trust, so cue lots more family fun days out.

Not only has my exercise been off this month after the half marathon, my eating has been off too.  I can’t eat this way for too long though so throughout May, I’m making a conscious effort to make more plant-based meals to help balance things out.   Meals like this beetroot and kale soup have really helped get me back on track.

Excitingly, I appeared on my first ever radio show on with Sainsbury’s Magazine and , chatting about all things breakfast – my favourite meal of every day!

  • How To Refind Your Fitness Mojo

1. Organic Winter Beetroot Soup with Curly Kale

I picked this up while shopping for groceries in Waitrose for a speedy lunch as it sounded gorgeous.  I’ve never tried beetroot soup before, but this one definitely wins my vote.

2. Korres Vanilla Cinnamon Body Milk

I’ve been looking for a natural body butter for a while and I’ve tried Korres products before, so I knew that they’re really good quality. I love how this smells and leaves my skin silky smooth.

3. Tea India Masala Chai Tea

Chai tea is my obsession and a great alternative to a regular breakfast tea.  The deep spicy notes of the masala chai have become one of my favourites.

4. Madecasse Dark Chocolate 63% Salted Almond

Another Waitrose find, this tastes amazing!  It’s has everything that I love about chocolate in it, sweet, salty and bitter.

Goals For May

Personally, I don’t really have any goals for May at all. It’s already looking like another busy month as we have 2 back to back weddings, which should be fun.  I’m hoping that I’m going to be able to find more time to look after myself and relax this month.
