I’m such a smoothie addict, they are an all-year-round addiction for me but when the summer hits I try to make one every day, mainly for breakfast.  My go-to smoothie is a mix of greens, banana, almond butter, coconut water and other add-ins that might take my fancy that morning.  I’ve loved coconut water in my smoothies recently to cut the creaminess of my usual almond milk, it’s incredibly hydrating which is much-needed in the warmer weather.  This mango, orange and quark smoothie is the perfect start to a summer’s day.

Wanting to stay clear of my current obsession with snack bars for my afternoon snack, I decided to try out a smoothie instead.  Mangoes are at their best now and with the much-welcomed summer sunshine, there is no better way to enjoy them in a refreshing smoothie.

I mixed in some natural quark, which is naturally low in fat and high in protein and it adds a beautiful creamy texture to the smoothie without being overwhelming.  Coconut water, that’s also in the smoothie incredibly hydrating and can be great for your body.

Adding the oats and quark make this a really satisfying smoothie, so it’s a great breakfast option for when you’re in a rush because you can take it with you.  However, whichever ingredients you decide to add and whatever time you drink it, mango and oranges are always a winner!
